School

Olivia started preschool at Methodist Day School here in Del Rio.  She is in the 3 year old Green Room.  She is  a little disappointed that it is the Green Room & a blue shirt.  She thinks it should be the Pink Room & they should wear Pink shirts!  She attends Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  It seems a little long but the time does go fast.  I have yet to actually accomplish anything at home but hope to next week!  ;)  I will admit that I really miss her.  It is very quiet around the house.  Mostly cause our little Taz is taking a nap!  All in all it is going well.  She loves it & we hope it will help us all make new friends.

Here are some pics from the Open House night & the First Day!

Olivia Turns 3

Olivia turned 3 on Tuesday August 24!  She had so many little parties this year that she thinks her birthday is all the time!!  We had a Minnie Mouse  party for her with her Grandparents, Uncle

Chad, Aunt Brittney & close friends the Grevious’ at Chucky Cheese in Montana back at the end of July.  Everyone had a lot of fun & it was great to see & play with everyone!  We had another little celebration with her cousins the Boone’s & Grandma Darlene & Papa Bill.  When Grandma Sue & Grandpa Steve came down we had a pool party with dinner, cupcakes & of course more presents!  On Olivia’s actual day she received gifts from her Aunt Liz, Uncle Dave, Christian & Elyse, & Grandma Patsy & Grandpa Tim.  She also loves getting the mail because she received some cards from all her Great Grandparents!  Yes, I know you are thinking this little girl is very spoiled!  We will just agree with you!!

Grandpa & Grandma Come to Visit!!

Grandpa Steve & Grandma Sue finally got tired of hearing us whine to them that we missed them & needed them to come visit!  After they left I realized that we had only been away from them for a few short weeks, but to us it felt like forever!  Luckily they were able to fly stand by & made every flight!  But it still took all day due to us living at the end of the world! :) We kept them very busy!  We unpacked most of the boxes, Dad & David built a shed, celebrated Olivia’s Birthday, went swimming & just hung out!   We had a great time with them & we were extremely sad when it was time for them to go!  Thank Grandma & Grandpa for all the gifts, help, & time together!  WE LOVE YOU!

Happy 30th Anniversary DAD & MOM!

On July 26th Dad & Mom celbrated their 30th wedding anniversary!  Chad, Brittney, David & I decided to just have a low key dinner at the house for them.  Mostly due to the fact the summer had just been so jammed pack & my crew does better at home then anywhere else.  Plus we new Dad & Mom would think the most important thing would be just to have their family together.  So I got to thinking what we could do to make it a little extra special for them.  The only thing they love other than being with us ;) is visiting Maui.  They have been going about every year for the last 5 years.  So I decided to through them their own luau since they won’t take all of us!  I borrowed some decorations from the Guenthner’s, bought a few of my own, made sure everyone had their Hawaiian dress, made them a cake & David cooked Hawaiian kabobs!  Due to the wind it ended up having to be inside but it was still so much fun & everyone seemed to enjoy it.  We even had shaved ice.  For gifts David learned how to play & sing their wedding song on the guitar & I had printed a picture that they had taken of the ocean into a big print & framed it for over their bed.  All in all we had a wonderful time being together as a family!  Here is to many more!

A little Busy!

As you can see we have been a little busy! But our life is just going to get busier!  As we approach our last week in Montana for awhile our days are getting filled up!  We have lots of people to see, places to go & things to pack.  We are looking forward to our move to Texas since it has been dragging on for well over a year.  But especially the last 7 months.  It will be nice to finally be all together as a family of five under one roof.  With that we are also very scared & nervous!!  It is going to be hard being so far away from our family & friends!  You are all very important to us you never know what it means to have you in our lives.  So we ask for you prayers as we get ready to make this transition.  We want to thank you already for all your thoughts & prayers that you have given us to get us where we are today!  We want to give a special thanks to Grandma Sue & Papa Steve!  They have opened their home up to us for the last 11 weeks!  They have taken such good care of all of us & we know we aren't an easy bunch!  We will miss you lots but love you more!  Please don't be strangers & come visit!  Look forward to seeing you all soon!!  Here are some pics of what we have been up to!

Chad & Brittney Davis

I am officially old!  My little brother tied the knot to a beautiful women on July 1, 2010!  We were all afraid that I wasn’t going to make to the wedding!  But David, Holden, & I were released from the hospital on Wednesday, June 30th just in time to head to rehearsal.  David was a groomsmen & even sang, I was a bridesmaid, & Olivia was the flower girl!  We were all so excited to be apart of their big day! It was a small beautiful wedding in a flower garden!  They had a wonderful ceremony followed by a delicious cake reception.  Lots of family & friends were able to attend.  It was so nice to see everyone! Our good friend Heather Mosser took their wedding pics.  She did an amazing job!  Here is her website with some pics & there is even a slide show you can click on and watch!  ENJOY!!  www.heathermosserblog.com

Congratulations Chad & Brittney!!  We love you!

Holden is Here!

Wow time is flying & with 3 kids under 3 there is not a lot of extra time!  I apologize for not getting the blog updated but here we go!  Holden arrived Monday, June 28th at 4:18 p.m. after a long traumatic birth!  We ended up being induced due to me starting to show all the signs of preeclampsia.  It worked out for us because David was here & we could have the baby & be out of the hospital in time for my brother’s wedding!  The nurse was very slow at getting things started that day & even got into some trouble by my doctor!  She didn’t have the pitocin started by the time my doctor came to make her rounds, so therefore she was unable to break my water.  The nurse was also horrible at putting I.V.’s in & my loud scream of pain brought the charge nurse running into the room!  The morning continued like this with nothing really progressing.  Finally at lunch my doctor arrived & broke my water.  This got things moving!  I was having pretty good contractions & working my way up to being  7 1/2 cm dilated.  I was trying to go without the epidural due to it stopping labor in the past but the pain was getting to be a little much.  At one point during a contraction my I.V. came out & was shooting blood everywhere!  My nurse just froze & didn’t really know what to do!  Thanks to my husband we finally got another nurse to come in & fix the problem.  At that point all the nurses were getting tired of the whole situation & was ready for me to just get the epidural & be quite.  The new nurse checked me once more & told me I had a long way to go & that I wasn’t even 6 cm dilated yet!  This was mentally discouraging so I went ahead an ordered the epidural.  The last thing I really remember is leaning on David as I received the first initial shot of the pain medication.  The next thing I new 4 minutes later I was being jolted awake & being screamed at to push!  Apparently I passed out, we lost the baby’s heart rate & they had given me ephedrine to get things going.  My body relaxed & out he came!  He weighed 7 lbs 5 oz , 19.5 inches long with a bruised face & LOTS of hair!  At first Holden had a hard time maintaining his body temperature so they put him in a heater for a few hours.  But eventually he recovered & was doing well.  I also after a few minor complications was doing good.  I just have to thank David & my Mom for helping me get through the day!  I couldn’t of done it without them!  I also need to thank my cousin Amy!!  She was able to come up to the hospital right after Holden was born & helped take care of both of us!!

Hanging Out in Montana

Well, still no baby, but maybe soon!  I am progressing but slowly & showing little signs of preeclampsia so for sure by Tuesday of next week we should welcome our baby boy!  But in the mean time we have truly been enjoying our time together as a family here in Montana.  There is nothing we can do back in Del Rio, nothing to really do here other than every day life.  So we are taking it as a blessing and really enjoying each other and the kids.  David arrived in Montana 3 weeks ago thinking we would have the baby any day!  I can't explain how awesome it has been to have him here!  My brother is getting married next week so we are getting ready for the big day.  We are all in the wedding & David is even singing & playing the guitar.  Since he has been practicing Olivia has decided to take up the guitar & singing as well!  Other than playing around the house, swimming, & going on play dates we just have been having fun!  Here is a little clip of them singing You Are My Sunshine & some other pics of what we have been up to!

Brittney’s Bridal Shower

Today we had a beautiful Bridal Shower for my future Sister-in-law!  It was a lot of work but had fun putting it all together with my mom!  Everything went together  and our theme was Brittney's favorite colors: black, red, and white.  It was a garden party with lots of presents.  The cake was a three-tiered "present" cake and tasted great thanks to mom!  We were pleased to have so many relatives of Brittney and Chad's to honor us  with their presence. Even Brittney's mom, sister & two grandmas came from out of town!  I want to give a special thanks to my brother Chad who graciously came over early to help set up, change diapers, dressed kids & babysat Sawyer during the shower!  We would of never made it with out you!  Here are some pics of our special day!  (P.S. I am now cleared to go into labor but as of now nothing has happened!)

Potty Time!

So we have been off & on potty training for a little over a year.  A year ago she was actually ready to go but with David being deployed, us living in a new environment, & new baby in the house it just never worked out.  Then it was time to move, be on the road & not live a “normal” life!  It still just didn’t work out.  We tried to get serious about it a little over a month ago but once again she just wasn’t ready!  Last week I swore I would never mention the potty again until we were settled in Del Rio & she was three!  But out of the blue she brought it up.  We decided that we needed a new approach and new tools.  So the little princess got to go to the store and pick out her very own, singing, pink, princess potty!  Still off & on for the next few days we struggled but got a few successes!  Trying to decide weather to really push the potty or just let it go we choose to keep on her and see how she did.  Not being very successful or into the whole thing yesterday I thought I was safe to give her a bribe this morning!  OH was I WRONG!  She woke up talking about the potty so David put her on & she made the potty sing!  A little while later when asked she once again went sat down and the potty began to sing!  I reminded her that we would stop asking her if she would start going on her own.  I also said that we would buy her a bran new tricycle if she could get 10 stickers today.  For every success she gets a sticker on her chart & a sucker.  David just stared at me from across the room.  We are in no position this week to be buying her a new tricycle!  We live in an apartment on the second floor & every time I move I begin to contract & at the end of the week we will be closing on our second home!  I reassured him that there was NO WAY she was going to go in the potty 10 times!  By noon we had 6 stickers!  8 stickers by the time Daddy arrived home from work & 9 stickers by the time it came to go to the grocery store.  We had no accidents what so ever and just couldn’t see her fail now!  So we brought the potty chair along with us in the van & I decided to just stay in the car with the kids while they watched a movie.  Sure enough as we were patiently waiting for Daddy to return she yells out “I got to go POTTY!”  By the time Daddy got back to the van we were up to 10 stickers!!  Thinking that she would forget about the prize & that we may be able to scam the little 2 year old into getting another full day of big girl potty successes we headed home!  Once again she proved me wrong.  She walked into the apartment asked for her sucker, sticker, & her new tricycle!  With a look from Daddy I don’t really desire to see again Daddy & Olivia headed out the door to Target!  Luckily Target had a great sale this week!  I just keep whispering in his ear that 2 in diapers is WAY cheaper than 3!!!DSC_0387  DSC_0431
